Devices — Remote clients
Remote clients connect additional computers to Metis. The device establishes a connection to the installation; device settings determine which actions are available.
Step by step
Open Settings → Devices → Remote clients and choose Add client.
Choose the operating system and access mode.
Install the offered app and pair it using the server URL and pairing code.
Check connection status and permissions before using files, commands, or desktop control.

Good to know
- User access and Admin/system access use different installation and permission paths.
- Computer Use also requires an available desktop and appropriate screen and control permissions.
- Allowlists permit specific commands. A connection alone does not grant blanket administrator access.
Troubleshooting
If a device appears offline, its client must be running and able to reach the Metis address. On macOS, also check Screen Recording and Accessibility. Linux desktop control requires a supported X11 session.
